Medical Assistant (MA)
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for the delivery and management of patient care, ensuring the safety and treatment of patients under their supervision.
The role involves participating in doctors' rounds and providing relevant information such as nursing observations, laboratory results, and patient progress. Additionally, the Medical Assistant ensures accurate charging, performs duties assigned by superiors and supervises and guides subordinates.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' needs upon admission and daily throughout their hospital stay.
- Evaluate and monitor patients' progress according to their care plan.
- Demonstrate compassion, and maintain a positive, caring attitude toward patients.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Provide appropriate nursing care in line with each patient's treatment plan.
Requirement
- 2–5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital setting.
- Diploma in Medical Assistant.
- Registered Medical Assistant.
- Registered with the Medical Assistant Board.
- Post-basic certification is an advantage.
