State Registered Nurse, Inpatient (Ward)
Job Summary
You will be responsible for delivering patient care, managing treatment, supervising subordinates, and providing relevant information during consultant’s rounds.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate patient census and records, facilitate smooth ward operations, arrange staff coverage, and lead during emergencies. Communicate any issues to the appropriate authority.
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including preparation for procedures, accurate recording of vital signs, psychological support, health education, and ensuring follow-up appointments. Assist consultant and other healthcare providers.
- Manage medication inventory, ensure proper storage and accurate administration of drugs, maintain cleanliness of medication areas, and monitor medication fridge temperatures.
- Orient and guide new staff, supervise junior nurses, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and assist in quality improvement activities. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans.
- Adhere to infection control guidelines, maintain confidentiality of records, follow institutional policies and regulations, and ensure accurate documentation and charging. Support customer service initiatives and additional duties as assigned.
Requirement
- Minimum Diploma in Nursing.
- Possess active Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) & registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
- Proficient in computer operations and able to write and communicate well in English.
- Experienced in cardiology, cardiothoracic and cardiovascular nursing.
- Proficient in Basic Life Support and Infection Control Guidelines.
