Dr Jamalul Azizi is a consultant respiratory physician (pulmonologist) with more than 20 years of experience in respiratory medicine and interventional pulmonology (IP). He trained in internal medicine and the respiratory subspecialty and further advanced his expertise in interventional bronchoscopy. He has played a pioneering role in Malaysia, including establishing rigid bronchoscopy practice among pulmonologists, as well as introducing bronchial challenge testing and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
His clinical interests include interventional pulmonology (IP), pulmonary physiology, airway stenosis related to tuberculosis, and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for COPD. He is also an accomplished author and has received international recognition, including the ‘Global IP Mentor’ award and the WABIP Dumon award in 2024 for his contributions to the IP field.
