Cardiac Diagnostics Centre

Cardiovascular disease and cancer are the two most common causes of death in the world, accounting for almost 3 out of every 4 deaths. Over half of these deaths occur in people without warning signs.

Often, the first sign of a potential health problem is a heart attack and sudden death whilst the earliest cancer symptoms may not occur until the disease is widespread. The main stumbling block in tackling this issue to date has been that investigations performed in hospitals up till now (including invasive tests) only detect these conditions when they are already at an advanced stage.

At the Cardiac Diagnostics Centre, we believe that early detection allows for early intervention and thus, a better outcome. Located on the first floor, our centre houses the latest Revolution CT scanner, which creates detailed images enabled by the latest technological and scientific advances.

The scanner combines a series of high quality images taken from different angles around your body and uses digital processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. From these images, our cardiologists are able to:

  • Perform a calcium score to survey all the vessels of the heart for a heart attack risk
  • Identify vulnerable deposits of plaque in the heart & vessels
  • Perform non-invasive total body angiogram accurately
  • Early detection of stroke
  • Early detection of cancer in major organs
  • Perform non-invasive virtual colonoscopy to detect polyps and early cancer in the large bowel, helping avoid the discomfort and inconvenience of endoscopic colonoscopy
