Athletes with heart or vascular disease or those at risk have specific goals and objectives in mind.

• They want to continue to play their sport
• They want to be safe

CVSKL’s Sports Cardiology team works with athletes across all levels – from high school and collegiate athletes, professionals, recreational exercisers and weekend warriors, to help them achieve their goals.

What we treat

Patients visit CVSKL’s Sports Cardiology Centre for a variety of reasons, including:

• Patients with diagnosed cardiac disease but wish to remain active or compete. 
• Abnormal sports screening pre-participation sports screening questionnaires. 
• Guidance on returning to play. 
• Abnormal results on ECG, echocardiogram, or exercise stress test. 
• Signs of heart disease identified during routine examinations (e.g., heart murmur).
• New symptoms during training or competition (e.g., dizziness/syncope, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, palpitations). 
• Unexplained decline in sports performance
• Congenital heart or vascular diseases.
• Risk factors or family history of cardiovascular disease or sudden cardiac death. 
• Guidance for safety returning to or starting physical activity, including after medical treatment or cardiac events. 

No referral is required unless your insurance provider specifies otherwise.
